About Us

The Art of Steel is the team of Giuseppe "Joe" Giannattaiso and Rod Tanks (no prizes for guessing who-is-who).

Joe brings the engineering and metal work expertise, while Rod is the timber worker and manages customers, materials and logistics.

 

ABOUT JOE

With his foundations in Italy, Joe has been in Australia since 2002.

As the owner of GG Metal Fab with his workshop in Mona Vale, NSW.  Joe has more than 25 years of welding experience and is a qualified Boiler Maker.

Joe is a true technical expert in design and the art of welding.

He has the finest attention to detail and during his time, he has been involved in every aspect of steel work and fabrication.

Working on Australia's largest mineral and energy pipeline projects.

As a Supervisor in the Naval Shipyards of Newcastle, NSW.

And has created the exacting and exquisite products required on a number of world class performance race yacht's (like Wild Oats) with McConaghy Boats.

In his current workshop, Joe produces all manner structural steel and complex components for Sydney wide construction projects.

He also specializes in technically challenging and beautiful architectural structures for a variety of applications.

Joe says "if you dream it up and draw it; I can make it."

 

ABOUT ROD

Rod has a background in timberwork and logistics.

What really makes him tick is taking something from concept to completion.

Being involved in the initial idea and working with the right people to bring something to life and then deliver it.

Rod has been a resident of the Northern Beaches since day-one and he's the one that will personally make your delivery.
